Dr Michael Plunkett attended the American Physiology Summit 2023 in Long Beach California, and presented his study: “Skeletal muscle metaboreflex control of ventilation and perception of dyspnoea is enhanced in pulmonary arterial hypertension.”

He won best oral presentation by a PhD student in the neural control and autonomic regulation ‘NCARnation’ session. Attached is a photo of him receiving his award.

Dr Plunkett also attended the Integrative Human Cardiovascular Control PhD course in Copenhagen and won Experimental Physiology’s Bengt Saltin prize for best oral presentation.
